Ryan was suppose to be up in San Francisco tonight for a flight tomorrow to Beijing. Luckily for me, he switched his flight to an early morning flight out of San Diego and it freed up the night for a date night. Ryan wanted to give Lorea the new resturant at the Pasea a shot. I was so excited about the new build but when I finally got a look at the menu just days before opening I was disappointed. It looked way way too hootie tootie.

Ryan said, let's give it a shot and if it's not what we want we will head somewhere else. Ok, deal.

Well, I loved it. I really think it might have been the fact that it really felt like Ryan and I were on a date for the first time in awhile due to crazy work timeframes .... or just a combination of that plus really good food. The second visit willl tell but for now...I can't wait to go back.

It also started off really well because we had a wait for a table and we decided to take a seat at the bar and enjoy a cocktail...again it felt like a fun date with a hot guy and I loved it. I looked him straight in the eye as he was deciding which drink to have and I said...I'm buying so get anything you want. He busted up laughing. I appreciate that he loves my humor.

The first thing to brag about are the rolls that Ryan ordered! They come in a pan ... like biscuists but they are huge and fluffy ....more like Lori made us homemade cinnamon rolls with no cinnamon and sugar and then supersized them! So so so good. I will definitely just go back for an evening coffee and pan of bread!

For dinner I order halibut which was actually cooked! Hallelujah. Ryan ordered....steak? yikes I can't remember. We had koren beek fried rice...lots of flavor. French fries...nice touch...egg plant fries...yummy. Some kind of shrimp that were delicious too.
